I have never been one to mix entertainment and politics.  Though I have always had my opinion, and I do always vote, never have I felt the urgency to campaign for any particular candidate in the political arena... until now.  This is my way of doing whatever I can to support Presidential hopeful, Barack Obama.

The 2008 presidential election will possibly be one of the most important elections in a generation. Yes, I can be the typical jaded and cynical musician, but this is a moment in history we will never face again, so I feel I cannot just sit on the sidelines. Barack Obama is one of those rare individuals that meets the needs of our time.  I urge you to research this candidate at his website, www.barackobama.com, and also take the opportunity to listen to him speak.

I hope you will come to the same conclusion I have, that Barack Obama is the right person to serve as the next President of the United States.  Please get involved in your state's primary process and join me in electing Obama as our nominee for the Democatic party candidate and ultimately President in the general election. Join me in supporting Barack Obama: volunteer in your town or log on to his website to make a donation.  I realize I am just one voice, but as Dr. King said, and Barack Obama echoes in his speeches, this is the "fierce urgency of now".
